As the Autumn term began, there was a sense of change afoot. We knew that the announcement of our new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, would bring with it Cabinet shuffles and new faces, but I'm sure few of us could have predicted the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – a terribly sad event, inevitably bringing yet more change.

We had been poised with exciting updates, but it felt right to pause for a moment before sharing these with you. nasen and Whole School SEND took time to reflect on a lifetime of service, while welcoming our new King, Charles III.    

His Majesty's accession has certainly added to the feelings of anticipation that are so familiar at this time of year. Aside from transformations in monarchy and government, this half term brings a packed timetable for delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and events. Against a backdrop of encouraging conversations, which all suggest that SEND remains a key government priority, we are hoping for a great year in education.      

We look forward to supporting you, and wish you all the best for a smooth start to the academic year.
